The Fruitless Manggo Tree OR ( what's an underwear got to do with a manggo tree ? )

Most flowering plants in our garden are doing their jobs, they bear flowers from time to time. The other manggo trees outside the fence did their jobs well - bearing fruits, nice and succulent at least annually, except one particular giant manggo tree. It was first to be planted and so far it gave some fruits ( small ones ! ) only once...some years ago. Since then it has been barren on fruits but very heavy on leaves. Apart from giving shade, its utterly miserable where fruits are concerned. We tried everything - putting fertilizers, hacking the trunk and even tried talking and coaxing gently to the tree, but to no avail. Some people say, I must try to put the stubborn tree to shame so that the other trees will mock at it. So, what is the best way ? they said by hanging an under garment to its trunk. So I will just do that : case of a desperate situation requiring an equally desperate action. Wonder, whether there is a research on this solution! Anyway, I am going to wait and see.
