Weekend in Melaka

Very domesticated wild ducks

The Timer with no instruction or information sheet

Having nothing to write this month due to being extremely busy at work, I have decided to post about what happened the  last 24 hours in Melaka. Including what I saw on my way to Melaka Sentral ( the central wet market where I normally have breakfast and meet-up with old Melaka days buddies ! ) this Sunday morning......

1. Arrived home almost midnight last night and saw our living room was wet due to a mini flooding the previous night ( according to Burn, our great neighbour )...apparently the monsoon drain about 20 metres away was not functioning well due to repair works nearby. Luckily the carpet was not in place because we plan for this !
2. I observed a maniac driver overtaking me on the inside on my way to Sentral almost knocking a cyclist.
3. Ate 2 capatis and a nasi lemak bungkus at Sentral with my brother and nephew. And we plan a business undertaking within 30 minutes ! This is great.
4. Our 2 loyal visitors dropped by for breakfast....
5. Finally, the timer for the water/filter pump worked and serves its purpose after 3 tries over 3 weekends. This cheap China made device comes with no legible operating instructions. So, this is the 3rd weekend when I can shout EUREKA ! Potential savings about 15 % of electricity costs or 5 plates of Nasi Gunting at Sentral. Not bad for a RM12 investment.
6. The wild ducks at the garden waterfall are still there; they must be happy.
7. And the fishes too are okay despite the trauma of the timer and water pump being forced upon them.
8. Streets in Melaka are getting heavy due to extra week-enders and local tourists taking advantage of the school holidays.
9. There is a wedding reception to attend in 2 hours time and so lunch is free.

Happy talapias, goldfish and koi

                                                  Guess who's coming for breakfast

Happy Holidays !
