I love music and songs, more so those of the sixties ! the time when I was in my teens, beginning secondary school. The time I could not afford those EPs and LPs and whatmore...the turntable and amplifiers. The days when I only had 40 sen pocket money per day for school where a bowl of noodles cost 20 sen and tap water to quench my thirst after the PE class ( Physical Education ). Those were the better days I supposed...no worries, carefree and those "innocent" songs will ever always bring back flashes of significant events but yet impossible to remember. Songs from Cliff Richard, Elvis, Engelbert. Johnny Cash, Slim Whitman, Jim Reeves , Johnny Horton , the evergreens which at times I accidently humm now. ( I have some Cds of them now.....hurrah ! ) . And not withstanding that, I also remember the Malay/Indonesian singers of those days..........certainly it brings back memories. I grew up with Anneke Gronloh, R.Azmi, P.Ramlee, The Blue Diamonds, The Shadows, Fabulous Echoes, The Quests, Ernie Djohan, Lilis Suriani, the 60s Hindi songs; songs like Kopi Susu, A Little Bit of Soap, Burung Kakak Tua, Mashed Potatoes etc. Thanks to U-Tube and the many contributors, all those songs are a just a click away.
